Ava DuVernay and Autumn Riley

Ava DuVernay born August 24 72 years old at Long Beach in CA. DuVernay received encouragement from Aunt Denise when she was a little girl. She attended University of California Los Angeles to obtain degrees in English in addition to African American Studies. DuVernay began to produce in broadcast journalism when she was still at the college. She began working as an intern at CBS News during the O.J. Simpson's trial. DuVernay remembers being given an assignment to watch the house and examining the waste from one of the juries. Her work left her dissatisfied by journalism and she decided to move towards the publicity industry. DuVernay was hired right from college to be a junior publicist at a small studio. She was promoted to the position and set up her own PR company named The DuVernay Agency in 1999. The company launched a number of promotional and lifestyle networks that include Urban Beauty Collective and Urban Eye.
